Mindful Eating retreat day
Saturday 21st January 2017 11:15-15:00 at ZenYoga studio, Camberwell
with Mark Westmoquette and Emma Hudson
Eating is so intimately linked to emotions, habits, and health that it can easily be the first place we notice something is out of balance.
Mindfulness teaches us to fully appreciate the constantly changing sensations and emotions around hunger, eating, and digestion. Mindful eating means selecting, preparing and eating food with awareness and attention resting in the present moment. It means being aware of the positive and nurturing qualities of the food you eat, and respecting your own inner wisdom. Like this we learn how to be at peace with our food.
It also means being aware and accepting of all the emotions that arise – positive and negative. It's only after we acknowledge and accept the way things are right now, that we can choose how to act wisely in the future.
The retreat day
On this retreat you we will discover:
We will all participate in preparing the food we will eat during the retreat. All the costs of the food are included in the price of the retreat.
The day will also include a number of different mindfulness practices, including some still meditation and some mindful movement. The majority of the retreat will be held in silence.
Suitable for complete beginners to mindfulness, and to those with more experience. Not suitable for those with chronic or diagnosed eating disorders.
If you have any dietary requirements or restrictions, please send me a message on firstname.lastname@example.org.
